About Us

We are a research group in Information Systems Department at New Jersey Institute of Technology. Our research interests include but not limit to Information Retrieval, Knowledge Organization, Natural Language Processing, Text Mining, and Information Extraction.

Our research motivation is to help people and organizations find relevant information faster, mine the available data for hidden information, and translate the information to knowledge to support decision making.

Over the past two years we have been working on developing sophisticated algorithms and building prototypes to test these algorithms. The system, Highlight, is based on the achievements of two of our previous research projects: Noun Phrase Extractor and Concept Hierarchy Developer.

Our team is led by Dr. Brook Wu.
